HD Construction Equipment said on the 13th that it was selected by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea) under the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) as a corporations qualification government recognition program operator and will issue government-certified licenses for handling and safety management of high-voltage systems in electrified equipment. It is the first introduction in Korea of a qualification related to electrified construction equipment amid the construction machinery market's electrification trend.
The corporations qualification government recognition program is a practical qualification certification system in which the government grants credibility to corporations-specific specialized duties.
With this selection, HD Construction Equipment will conduct the corporations qualification exam for "construction machinery high-voltage handling and safety management (LV.1, LV.2)" covering electrified construction equipment such as electric excavators and electric forklifts. The certification will proceed through the "education–evaluation–certification" program at HD Construction Equipment's Eumseong Global Training Center. After completing the hands-on curriculum and passing the written and practical tests, a certificate will be issued.
HD Construction Equipment has jointly developed this qualification category with HD Hyundai XiteSolution since 2024. In particular, upon obtaining the LV.2 grade, which requires skills at the level of a national certified technician, candidates will be qualified not only for independent maintenance but also for safety management in a "live-line" state. HD Construction Equipment plans to additionally develop this category up to the LV.4 course at master craftsman level and expand the fields of qualification recognition.
An HD Construction Equipment official said, "By introducing the qualification exam, we will be able to respond preemptively to technological changes and secure on-site safety," adding, "We will do our best to foster talent with expertise."
