HD Construction Equipment said on the 4th it will hold an "Operator Challenge" at CONEXPO 2026, North America's largest construction equipment trade show, taking place in Las Vegas from the 3rd to the 7th (local time).
The event will run for three days from the 3rd at the Hyundai (HYUNDAI) booth of HD Construction Equipment, where on-site participants compete in driving skills each day and the top scorer receives $1,000 (about 1.47 million won). Using the new mini electric excavator (HX19E), participants race to quickly place three balls into designated holes, and one person is selected each day.
HD Construction Equipment said it organized the event to let visitors watch the mini electric excavator operate up close and directly experience its performance, with the aim of strengthening brand recognition in the North American market.
The HX19E excavator used for the event can be equipped with a 40 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery, the largest in its class, enabling more than 10 hours of operation. It also produces no noise or exhaust emissions.
According to global market research firm Market Research Future, the U.S. small electric construction equipment market is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 16.3%, from $9.16 billion (about 13 trillion won) in 2025 to $41.64 billion (about 60 trillion won) in 2035.
An HD Construction Equipment official said, "We prepared this event to go beyond a simple display so visitors can enjoy themselves and experience the product firsthand," adding, "We will accelerate our push into the North American market by showcasing not only mini electric excavators but also the next-generation new models from Hyundai and Develon unveiled in North America."
