The domestic finished car industry on the 3rd announced March discounts for electric vehicles and popular models.
Hyundai Motor increased this month's Ioniq 9 discount from 5.7 million won last month to up to 6.1 million won, as the Ioniq 9 won a triple crown at domestic auto awards. The Ioniq 9 swept "car of the year" from three organizations last month, including the Korea Automobile Journalists Association (KAJA), and the commemorative discount is 1 million won. The Kona Electric offers up to a 5.75 million won discount, the New Ioniq 6 up to 5.7 million won, and the Ioniq 5 up to 4.7 million won. The Santa Fe and the Grandeur hybrids are discounted by 4.2 million won and 4.1 million won, respectively.
Kia is also offering discounts focused on electric vehicles. For the EV3, units produced in January this year qualify for a 1.5 million won discount, and February production qualifies for 1 million won. The same applies to the EV4. For the EV6, January production gets 2 million won and February production gets 1 million won. The EV5 comes with a 2 million won discount. In addition, the K5, K8 and K9 also come with discounts.
Renault Korea is offering the R:assure Basic free of charge this month to customers who purchase the Grand Koleos. The program guarantees the Grand Koleos' used-car price and provides one year of free care. Within one year of purchase or 15,000 km driven, it provides engine oil and oil filter replacements and vehicle inspections. Gasoline 2.0 turbo model customers also get additional benefits worth 2 million won.
General Motors' Korea operation (GM Korea) is enhancing financing and discounts across all models sold domestically. Customers who purchase the 2026 Trax Crossover get an annual interest rate of 3.5% for 36 months or 4.0% for 60 months, plus a 300,000 won cash discount. For 2026 Trailblazer buyers, the existing 36-month (annual 4.0%) and 60-month (annual 4.5%) installment programs come with a 300,000 won cash discount.
A test-drive event is also being held to mark the official domestic launch of the 2026 The New Escalade.
KG Mobility (KGM) is operating its Slim Pay Plan, an installment program that guarantees residual value. It is a financial product that recognizes future used-car value upfront to reduce monthly installments. Initially applied only to some models such as the Actyon and Torres Hybrid, it has now been expanded to include the Musso (Standard and Long Deck), Torres EVX, and Rexton New Arena (5- and 7-seaters).
