Asiana Airlines said on the 27th that it will operate international mileage-only flights on the Hong Kong and Phuket routes.
The international mileage-only flights will run a total of 68 times: 44 flights on the Incheon–Hong Kong route from Apr. 13 to June 28, and 24 flights on the Incheon–Phuket route from Apr. 7 to June 28.
Depending on sales, paid seats can also be purchased, allowing travelers to choose freely between mileage tickets and paid tickets. Reservations for these mileage-only flights open at 9 a.m. the same day, and all remaining seats can be purchased with miles.
This is the first time mileage-only flights are being operated on the Hong Kong route. For the Hong Kong route, mileage tickets require, one-way, 15,000 miles for economy class and 22,500 miles for business class.
For the Phuket route under the same criteria, economy requires 20,000 miles and business requires 30,000 miles. During peak season, however, an additional 50% is deducted compared with off-peak.
Asiana Airlines opened reservations for mileage-only flights on the domestic Jeju route on the 25th. The special flights will operate from Mar. 4 to Mar. 18. Mileage seats will be available on a total of 120 flights, including four Gimpo–Jeju departures and four Jeju–Gimpo departures daily. As with the international mileage-only flights, remaining seats may be sold as paid seats depending on availability.
On the 10th, three European routes—▲Budapest ▲Prague ▲London—were added to the "Mileage Now" promotion, an international mileage ticket discount program, bringing the total to 32 discounted routes. The sales period is from the 10th to Mar. 29, and the travel period runs through May 31. During regular season, a round trip in either economy or business class receives a discount of 10,000 miles.
