Jeju Air said on the 25th that starting Mar. 29, when the summer schedule begins, it will add four more daily flights on the Gimpo–Jeju route to operate 26 round trips a day.
Jeju Air said this number of flights is the most among airlines operating the Gimpo–Jeju route, and that with this increase it will operate the route about twice an hour.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Aviation Information Portal System, a total of 2,514,500 passengers used Jeju Air on the Gimpo–Jeju route last year. That is about 17% of the 14,835,900 total passengers on the Gimpo–Jeju route.
In January this year, the number of passengers on the Gimpo–Jeju route was about 227,400, up 38.6% from about 164,100 in the same period last year.
A Jeju Air official said, "We are continuously expanding air links so that Jeju residents and travelers to Jeju can travel between Jeju and Gimpo more conveniently at their preferred times."
