Doosan Logistics Solution (DLS) said on the 19th it won a 162 billion won logistics automation project for the Asung Daiso Yangju Hub Center. It is the largest contract since the company was founded.
The Yangju Hub Center is set to be completed in the second half of 2028 at the Eunnam Industrial Complex in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, and is expected to serve as a key base handling about 37% of all Asung Daiso online and offline orders through 2030. It features an "omnichannel method" that integrates management of online and offline inventory within a single system. It will have a total floor area of 205,943 square meters (about 62,406 pyeong), four above-ground floors, and a height of 45 meters.
Eliminating duplicate storage of inventory, maximizing investment efficiency by sharing space, equipment, and IT infrastructure, and minimizing inventory movement between channels will help it establish itself as the ideal logistics model pursued by the distribution industry, Doosan Logistics Solution explained.
DLS will oversee the entire process of the logistics automation solution for this project, including design and engineering consulting, supply of advanced automation equipment, AI-based software implementation, and maintenance.
By introducing ultra-high-speed, industry-leading OSR (Order Storage and Retrieval) shuttles, it will shorten logistics processing time. Advanced equipment such as GTP (Goods to Person) stations and ODS (Order Distribution System) will also improve work convenience and reduce workload. DLS will further advance the integrated operating system through its in-house developed WMS (warehouse management system), WCS (warehouse control system), and OMS (order management system).
DLS previously won the Asung Daiso Sejong Hub Center construction project and the Sejong Online Center logistics automation project.
A DLS official said, "This win shows that DLS's technological capabilities and project execution competence are among the best in the industry," adding, "Based on experience accumulated through executing large-scale logistics centers for Coupang and Nike and numerous manufacturing logistics automation projects, we will develop the Yangju Hub Center into Korea's top-tier omnichannel logistics center."
