Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) said on the 13th that it explored the potential for cooperation in space business with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Investment at the World Defense Show (WDS 2026), which is being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
According to KAI that day, Chief Executive Officer Cha Jae-byeong of KAI met with Minister Khalid Al-Falih of the Saudi Ministry of Investment to discuss cooperation plans for various future industries—including space, satellites and communications, and aviation—that can be linked to the Saudi government's "Vision 2030" project.
Earlier, in Oct. 2023 in Riyadh, KAI signed a "business agreement to establish a mutually cooperative relationship in the space sector" with the Saudi Space Agency (SSA) and has since pursued technology development and operations for pioneering the space market, joint commercialization, and investments in new startups.
KAI plans to further strengthen cooperation with Saudi Arabia, using this meeting with the Minister of Investment as a springboard.
