AI autonomous manufacturing and Robotics corporations SFA Engineering Corporation turned a profit last year.
SFA Engineering Corporation said on the 12th that on a separate basis it returned to the black, posting 100.6 billion won in operating profit last year. Revenue for the same period was 790.2 billion won, down 18.6% from a year earlier.
SFA Engineering Corporation said revenue fell as customers delayed investment schedules due to a chasm (temporary demand stagnation) in the electric vehicle and secondary battery institutional sector. However, a business strategy focused on profitability led to improved results. SFA Engineering Corporation expanded its lineup of high value-added products that incorporate AI and Robotics technologies. It also improved its cost structure by boosting the efficiency of executing the intelligent automatic sorting system (PJT) project. As a result, the operating margin was 12.7%.
SFA Engineering Corporation plans to advance AI- and Robotics-based fully autonomous manufacturing solutions and expand core semiconductor equipment such as process, inspection, and measurement equipment. It also plans to strengthen its subsea cable core manufacturing equipment business to secure new growth engines.
Kim Sang-gyeong of SFA Engineering Corporation said, "We will continue to expand high value-added businesses to steadily increase profitability."
