Two Hands, which operates the fulfillment service Pumgo, said on the 12th it launched a beta service for "Jeju next-day delivery." Based on operating data from the beta period, Pumgo plans to officially launch the Jeju next-day delivery service in the second half of this year.
The Jeju region, separated from the mainland, has faced difficulties with fast delivery. Pumgo officially opened a Jeju fulfillment center in Jan. and plans to include Jeju in the fast-delivery zone to narrow delivery gaps among island regions.
The newly unveiled beta service for "Jeju next-day delivery" is designed so that consumers living in Jeju can receive products the same day or the next day. When shipping from existing mainland logistics centers to Jeju, the average 2–3 day delivery time can be shortened by up to three days. Brands can enhance delivery competitiveness without additional expense burdens.
According to Pumgo's internal data analysis over the past month, the Jeju same-day delivery rate, previously 0%, rose to 8%. The next-day delivery rate increased from 0.5% to 44%. The next-day delivery completion rate for orders received by the 3 p.m. order cut-off, set to improve beta service efficiency, approached 100%.
Brands can now secure delivery competitiveness in the Jeju region without relying on the delivery networks of specific large platforms.
Pumgo has launched fast domestic and international delivery services such as same-day delivery, a 12 a.m. order cut-off, seven-day-a-week delivery, and guaranteed five-day arrival to Japan. With 14 centers currently in Gyeonggi Province and the Chungcheong region, the addition of the Jeju center brings its nationwide fulfillment network to a total of 15 locations.
Park Chan-jae, CEO of Pumgo, said, "Jeju is a market with a very high dependence on e-commerce," adding, "We will continue logistics innovation to meet the demand of brands seeking growth through fast delivery."
