Asiana Airlines said on the 11th that starting on the 29th it will expand China routes by 28 weekly flights compared with the winter season, operating 18 routes a total of 161 times a week.
Asiana Airlines will resume the Incheon–Chengdu and Incheon–Chongqing routes, which did not operate during the winter season, with daily service from Mar. 29. Chengdu and Chongqing are, respectively, the panda base where travelers can see Fu Bao and the original home of mala, both popular with Koreans.
On the Incheon–Chengdu route, the flight departs Incheon Airport at 8 p.m. and arrives at Chengdu Tianfu Airport at 11 p.m. local time. The return flight departs Chengdu Airport at 12:10 a.m. local time and arrives at Incheon Airport at 5:10 a.m.
The Incheon–Chongqing route departs Incheon Airport at 9:55 p.m. and arrives at Chongqing Airport at 1 a.m. local time the next day. The return flight departs Chongqing Airport at 2 a.m. local time and arrives at Incheon Airport at 6:25 a.m. Both routes will use the 188-seat A321neo.
Asiana Airlines will also increase service on major China routes. Asiana Airlines will add frequencies on the Incheon–Beijing route from 17 to 20 times a week starting Mar. 29.
The Incheon–Dalian route will operate 10 times a week, with a daily morning flight and three additional afternoon flights, and the Incheon–Tianjin route, previously three times a week, and the Incheon–Nanjing route, previously six times a week, will both be increased to seven times a week.
In addition, starting May 6, the Incheon–Changchun route will be increased from seven to nine times a week, and the Incheon–Yanji route will be increased from seven to eight times a week starting May 8.
Meanwhile, after the visa-waiver policy took effect between Korea and China, 3.16 million Korean travelers visited China in 2025, up about 37% from a year earlier. Chinese visitors to Korea increased 18.5% from the previous year to 5.79 million.
