A new agency founded by CEO Min Hee-jin, ooak Records (ooak records), has begun official activities.
ooak Records on the 5th released a video set in a record shop through its official social media (SNS). In the video, a woman says in French during a phone call, "It's a record shop. Many things are coming. You'll like it. Let's talk later."
Another video also announced recruitment for ooak Records' first boy band members. The target applicants are males born between 2008 and 2013, and CEO Min on the 3rd made official the launch of ooak Records and preparations to debut a boy band.
Min joined SM Entertainment in 2002 through an open recruitment and served as creative director and registered executive. In 2019, Min joined HYBE as chief brand officer (CBO) and built the initial brand. Afterward, in Nov. 2021, Min was appointed CEO of ADOR, established as a HYBE label, and in July 2022 introduced NewJeans, earning recognition as a producer.
However, Min is in a legal dispute with HYBE and ADOR. ADOR filed a damages and liquidated damages lawsuit worth 43.1 billion won against CEO Min, NewJeans member Danielle, and her family. The first-instance ruling on the termination of the shareholders' agreement with HYBE and the put option lawsuit is due on the 12th.
