Doosan Group said on Feb. 4 that it delivered 1 billion won in donations to the foundation "Fools' Sharing." The donation ceremony, held on Feb. 3 at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul, was attended by Park Gee-won, vice chairman of Doosan Group, and Guyobi, chair of Fools' Sharing (bishop).
Part of this donation will be used to support "family caregiving children and adolescents (young carers)" who play the role of breadwinner while caring for their families until they reach adulthood. Doosan has since 2022 supported young carer households living with parents or grandparents with illnesses or disabilities, or with single parents, by providing nursing and medical expenses, creating learning environments, and renovating living spaces.
The donation will also be used to support the operation of various social welfare facilities and for medical volunteer work in underdeveloped countries.
Fools' Sharing is a private fundraising organization established in 2010 to carry on the spirit of love and sharing of the late Cardinal Kim Su-hwan. Doosan Group has delivered donations to this organization every year since 2012.
