As President Lee Jae-myung continues to issue warning messages to multiple-home owners day after day, Minister Han Seong-sook of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has begun procedures to sell part of her holdings of dwellings.
According to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) on the 4th, the Minister is moving to sell two of the four dwellings owned in her name, excluding the two dwellings used for actual residence. However, of these, one is a single-family house located in a provincial area and the other is an officetel, and due to unfavorable transaction conditions, neither has been sold yet.
According to the "First ad hoc public officials' asset registration in 2026" released by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee, the Minister currently owns four dwellings in her name.
The single-family house in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, is where the Minister resides, and the apartment in Songpa-gu, Seoul, is where her mother lives, so they were reportedly excluded from the sale list. The Gangnam, Seoul, officetel and the single-family house in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, were put on the market after the ministerial appointment, but due to factors such as a downturn in the real estate market, a transaction has not yet been made.
