BYD Korea added two rear-wheel-drive trims to the lineup of the electric sedan SEAL. The existing model was the higher-end Dynamic AWD. The rear-wheel-drive trims are more attractive in price. Calculating subsidies, the actual purchase price enters the 30 million won range.
BYD Korea introduces the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) trims of the dynamic mid-size electric sedan BYD SEAL as the first model in its 2026 lineup expansion.
The BYD SEAL rear-wheel-drive trims feature a rear single motor with a maximum output of 230 kW (about 313 PS), delivering strong driving performance that reaches 100 km/h from a standstill in just 5.9 seconds with maximum torque of 360 Nm. The 82.56 kWh BYD blade battery provides an official range of 449 km per charge under Ministry of Environment standards, reducing the burden of long-distance driving. Also, thanks to BYD's "e-platform 3.0" on which it is based, the world's first 8-in-1 powertrain and a high-efficiency heat pump system operate to achieve a cold-weather driving range of 400 km (Ministry of Environment certification).
Driver assistance systems are standard across the board. It widely offers key driving assistance systems such as forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, and intelligent cruise control (ICC) that simultaneously supports lane-centering and distance keeping. In addition, a total of nine airbags — driver/passenger airbags, front seat side airbags, front seat center airbag, side curtain airbags, and rear seat side airbags — protect the driver and passengers.
The SEAL rear-wheel-drive trims consist of two variants: BYD SEAL (BYD SEAL RWD) and BYD SEAL Plus (BYD SEAL RWD PLUS).
The BYD SEAL maintains core fundamentals such as a cell-to-body (CTB) body, front double-wishbone suspension, ventilated brake discs, and 230 kW (about 313 PS) output while emphasizing product practicality. The BYD SEAL Plus, excluding some specifications such as the motor, suspension, and electronic child lock differences, offers convenience equipment at a level equivalent to the top trim, the BYD SEAL Dynamic AWD, allowing drivers to experience a driving level comparable to the BYD SEAL Dynamic AWD.
Prices are 39.90 million won for the BYD SEAL and 41.90 million won for the BYD SEAL Plus (after environmentally friendly vehicle tax benefits, before applying subsidies). With national and local subsidies applied, both trims can be purchased at an actual price in the 30 million won range.
