Bodyfriend said on the 2nd that it released the Medical Phantom Robo, a Ministery of Food and Drug Safety-certified medical device that can manage the spine and muscles at the same time.
The Medical Phantom Robo is a medical device designed to manage symptoms of cervical and lumbar intervertebral disc herniation and degenerative stenosis. The product provides both spinal traction and muscle pain relief functions, and implements a full-body stretching massage by moving both legs independently.
A total of 20 medical device-certified programs are built in, including a "traction therapy program," which helps with neck and lower-back discs and degenerative stenosis, and a "muscle pain relief program" that uses Pulsed Electromagnetic Field, the principle of repetitive magnetic signal stimulation.
The Medical Phantom Robo also applies an extended heating system from the back to the calves. The heating function can be adjusted in three levels from 45 to 55 degrees, and it is designed to help increase blood flow and relax stiff muscles. It also comes with 15 anti-pinch sensors, OTA (Over The Air) automatic software updates, an 8-inch tablet remote control, and a leg length extension system that automatically adjusts up to 21 cm.
Kim Ji-young, head of the Medical Living Research Institute at Bodyfriend Healthcare Medical R&D Center, said, "The Medical Phantom Robo is a product that, through ergonomic design, allows users to experience everything from neck and lower-back care to full-body massage at once," adding, "We will work to develop medical devices that can ease the musculoskeletal burden in modern daily life."
