LIG Nex1 said on the 30th that, based on consolidation financial statements last year, revenue and operating profit came to 4.3094 trillion won and 323.1 billion won. That was up 31.5% and 40.6%, respectively, from a year earlier. A LIG Nex1 official said the company posted solid results thanks to higher sales across business lines and the resulting increase in operating profit.
This year LIG Nex1 will take part in Middle East defense exhibitions starting in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Saudi Arabia, and will begin full-fledged global order marketing. Building on its existing Cheongung II export results, the company plans to expand the scope of exports to include the long-range surface-to-air guided weapon "L-SAM," which has long-range, high-altitude interception capabilities, and the man-portable air-defense system "Shingung."
Marking its 50th anniversary this year, LIG Nex1 is pushing to change its name to "LIG Defense & Aerospace (LIG D&A)." The company says the new name reflects its vision and resolve to lead future defense paradigms such as space, aviation, and unmanned systems and to expand its stage to the world and space. The new name will be finalized at the regular shareholders meeting.
