LS Electric said on the 29th that it built its in-house developed "outage management system (OMS)" at the district electricity office in the Hakha district of Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, operated by CNCT Energy. It is the first case of a private company's distribution network operation solution being commercialized at a district electricity worksite.
The application of this outage management system is a smart distribution operation solution that digitizes the status and condition of power facilities. It enables swift identification of areas and facility information in the event of an outage to facilitate response.
LS Electric said it expects that, beyond simple outage management, the digital-based integrated management of the status and history of all equipment in the distribution network will dramatically improve equipment management efficiency, including equipment life prediction and maintenance optimization.
LS Electric plans to launch full-fledged technology development with CNCT Energy, which is conducting this OMS demonstration together, to target the next-generation distributed distribution network market.
The global distributed distribution network market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 17.3% from $45.5 billion (about 64.933 trillion won) last year to $224.5 billion (about 320.3615 trillion won) in 2035.
An LS Electric official said, "OMS is gaining recognition as an essential solution in a variety of fields, including not only district electricity offices but also large factories and industrial infrastructure," and added, "As it is already receiving positive reviews at multiple industrial sites, it will lead the next-generation distribution market as a core solution for improving the stability of distributed distribution networks as well as AX (AI transformation) of power systems."
