Volvo Car Korea (CEO: Lee Yun-mo) said on the 29th that it donated 250 million won in operating funds for the "Family Safety Campaign" to the Korea Childcare Promotion Institute (KCPI).
The donation ceremony was held on Jan. 28 at the Volvo Car Korea showroom in Yongsan, and major officials, including Volvo Car Korea CEO Lee Yun-mo and Korea Childcare Promotion Institute (KCPI) Director Cho Yong-nam, attended.
Through cooperation with the Korea Childcare Promotion Institute (KCPI), Volvo Car Korea has continuously carried out social contribution activities to improve perceptions of childbirth and childcare and to create a society where both parents and children are happy. This is an interpretation of Volvo Car's "human-centric" philosophy-based sustainability value tailored to Korea, where the low birthrate phenomenon has deepened, and it has prepared various activities so that all family members can actively participate in childcare.
As representative activities, it produced about 15,000 "children safety key rings" to protect children's walking safety and distributed them to nationwide child care support centers, and also carried out the "Our Family Earth Caring Campaign," which certifies ESG activities, and the "See more, be seen" campaign to prevent traffic accidents in apartment complexes.
In addition, it continues to develop and operate various showroom experience programs that parents and children can participate in together, such as the "Volvo toy hospital" held last Dec., and steadily promotes Swedish family-friendly culture in Korean society.
Volvo Car Korea CEO Lee Yun-mo said, "We are continuing Volvo Car's promise to create a sustainable society for future generations together with the Korea Childcare Promotion Institute (KCPI)," and added, "Volvo Car Korea, which places the safety of all family members as its top priority, will continue to walk with local communities so that positive perceptions of childbirth and childcare can spread."
