Hanwha Ocean labor and management reached an agreement to build a forward-looking labor-management relationship based on the spirit of win-win cooperation.
President Jeong In-seop, head of business support at Hanwha Ocean, and Senior Vice Chair Kang Ju-yong of the Hanwha Ocean chapter of the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Metal Workers' Union signed a labor-management agreement on respect for labor and win-win cooperation at the Geoje plant on the 29th.
In the agreement, Hanwha Ocean labor and management pledged to do their best to establish an advanced labor-management relationship and to work together as cooperative partners for fair operations.
In particular, the Hanwha Ocean chapter decided to withdraw the complaints and accusations it filed against management and the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL).
Hanwha Ocean plans to use this agreement as an opportunity to reset the foundation for dialogue and cooperation between labor and management and to faithfully implement relevant laws and the agreed-upon items.
A Hanwha Ocean official said, "We will secure future competitiveness by restoring trust and strengthening cooperation between labor and management," and added, "We will work to establish a transparent and healthy labor-management culture through continued dialogue."
