Mercedes-Benz Korea received the Minister of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) award after being recognized for its contribution to responsible employment and the development of future talent at the NewSis-hosted '2026 Korea Jobs Awards' held at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 29th.
Attendees at the awards ceremony included Vice Minister Kwon Chang-jun of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL), Matthias Veitl, president of Mercedes-Benz Korea, and Sang-guk Lee, executive vice president and head of the digital, marketing and communications institutional sector.
In the judging for this Korea Jobs Awards, Mercedes-Benz Korea won the top honor after receiving high overall evaluations for its stable employment structure centered on long-term service, a work-friendly corporate culture based on diversity, efforts to cultivate future talent and strengthen the domestic employment base.
Matthias Veitl, president of Mercedes-Benz Korea, said, "Receiving the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) Minister award recognizes the results of more than 20 years of steady efforts for responsible employment and the development of future talent," and added, "We will continue to contribute to creating quality jobs and nurturing talent in future mobility technology."
Since entering Korea in 2002, Mercedes-Benz Korea has built a talent-centered, work-friendly organizational culture based on continuous hiring and a stable employment environment. In 2025 it newly hired about 10% of its total regular employees, and the share of young workers (under age 35) among all employees was 34%, contributing to expanded youth employment. Also, organizational stability is high, with 21% of all employees having more than 10 years of service.
This long-term service stems from a work-friendly corporate culture that values diversity. As of 2025, women made up 48% of all employees, and the share of women in leadership (female executives among all executives) was also 41%. The company also operates various work systems that actively support work-life balance for employees, including flexible work arrangements, working from home twice a week, three company holidays in addition to individual annual leave and six half-day work shifts—totaling six additional paid leave days per year—and a two-week paid leave every five years for long-term employees.
In addition, through more than 25 welfare programs, including employee experience programs that leverage brand characteristics such as one-month vehicle lending for outstanding employees and vehicle use programs for holidays and weekends, the company contributes to improving job satisfaction.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz Korea is actively continuing education and development programs to nurture talent for future mobility. The Mercedes-Benz automotive talent development program 'Mobile Academy' has provided career planning and job experience opportunities to 2,636 students at automotive-specialized colleges nationwide, and the vehicle maintenance specialist training program started in 2006, 'AET (Automotive Electric Traineeship),' has produced many domestic maintenance specialists. In addition, the promising startup development program 'Startup Autobahn Korea' has been run annually since 2020 and has supported the growth of 58 corporations to date, contributing to the cultivation of professional human resources in the future mobility industry.
