CJ Logistics said on the 28th that it will launch a parcel phone order service. The service was prepared to improve convenience for users who are not familiar with digital tools such as smartphone applications (apps).
The phone service is available through a dedicated number (1855-1236) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
Customers do not have to visit a post office themselves; they can conveniently register a parcel with a single phone call from home, then place the item in a box and leave it at the door.
CJ Logistics expects that while the new service is part of advancing consumer-to-consumer parcel services, it will also help narrow the digital divide for customers who face difficulties with digital access, such as older adults.
A CJ Logistics official said, "The launch of the phone service carries the 'meaning of win-win cooperation,' as it offers customers an additional parcel registration channel beyond the website and the app," and added, "CJ Logistics will continue to try various approaches to expand the beneficiaries of C2C (consumer-to-consumer) services."
