Agricultural machinery company TYM Co. said on the 28th that it is officially launching the next-generation mid-size tractor "T5088" and beginning preorders.
The domestic tractor market has long been split between mid-size models in the 70-horsepower range and large models with more than 100 horsepower. Tractors in the 70-horsepower range are highly maneuverable but lack power for large-scale work, while 100-horsepower models have sufficient power but are large and heavy, drawing criticism for lower efficiency in tight work spaces.
TYM Co. launched the 88-horsepower mid-size tractor "T5088" to bridge this market gap. TYM Co. said the T5088 maintains high maneuverability with a mid-size-optimized body and small turning radius while delivering power on par with higher-tier models.
The T5088 was completed after about four years of research and development. During development, TYM Co. built two prototypes and conducted rigorous field tests. The company also raised completeness by actively reflecting in the product design real feedback from farmers collected through customer invitation events and exhibitions, along with input from 36 technical advisory committee members with more than 10 years of agricultural machinery experience.
The T5088 is equipped with an 88-horsepower engine from German engine maker Deutz. The engine delivers stable output even in the low-to-mid RPM range. With the class-leading 110-liter fuel tank and high fuel efficiency, it can operate for more than 10 hours on a single fill-up. It also provides a class-leading 2,900 kgf of lift capacity, making heavy-implement operations easier.
Kim Dong-ik, head of domestic business at TYM Co., said, "The T5088 goes beyond the limits of existing mid-size tractors, combining the power, economy, and comfort that farmers have truly sought," adding, "We are confident it will establish a new standard in the domestic mid-size tractor market."
