Food safety solution corporations Sanigen said on the 28th it was selected as a partner corporation for business support by the Jeonbuk Defense Venture Center.
The Jeonbuk Defense Venture Center, under the Ministry of National Defense, is a Defense Acquisition Program Administration grants institution that discovers private corporations with technologies based on military needs and supports them by linking validation and commercialization. Through this agreement, Sanigen will pursue technological cooperation to supply its food safety management system and sterilization solutions optimized for the military environment.
Sanigen will develop on-site diagnostic technologies to prevent food poisoning accidents that can occur in military meal service environments. The company will develop real-time PCR-based multiplex detection technology and colorimetric reaction-based diagnostic kits that can detect foodborne pathogens without specialized equipment or analytical personnel, and will validate them in military cafeterias. Aiming to establish a comprehensive hygiene management system across cooking and storage stages, it will also prepare user manuals and training systems.
Sanigen will also run a sterilization solution business in parallel. Through its lineup of sterilization products, including the ice maker disinfectant "Sani-I," the company plans to focus its capabilities on improving hygiene management efficiency not only in military cafeterias but also across large-scale group living facilities. The business will proceed in stages: "prototype advancement, validation in military cafeterias, mass-production system establishment, and distribution expansion." Sanigen is reviewing the establishment of a stable manufacturing and supply system based on its Iksan GMP production line.
