Hansol Paper swung to a profit in the fourth quarter last year, posting an operating profit of 13.9 billion won.
Hansol Paper said on the 23rd that fourth-quarter revenue last year was 562.1 billion won and full-year revenue was 2.1691 trillion won. Fourth-quarter and annual revenue rose 1.1% and 2.3%, respectively, from the same periods a year earlier. Full-year operating profit increased 160.9% to 44.1 billion won.
A Hansol Paper official said, "In the fourth quarter last year, year-end peak-season demand fell somewhat due to uncertainty across the global paper market, including the U.S. tariff, but results improved from a year earlier on factors such as a base effect from bad-debt amortization in the environmental business."
The official added, "This year, major events such as the U.S. midterm elections and Korea's local elections are expected to have a certain positive impact on the paper demand environment."
