Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) said on the 23rd it will supply its Ventus S1 evo3 ev, a high-performance tire dedicated to electric vehicles, as original equipment for Hyundai Motor's hydrogen fuel cell vehicle The All-New Nexo for the European market.
Hankook Tire developed a tire optimized for The All-New Nexo through close technical cooperation with Hyundai Motor. In an 18-inch specification with a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle–specialized design, it boosts energy efficiency and features high quietness and driving stability.
A Hankook Tire official said, "As our product is being fitted to a model aimed at the European market, where energy efficiency and eco-friendly standards are the most stringent in the world, it proves the innovative technological capabilities required by the next-generation hydrogen mobility environment."
The Ventus S1 evo3 ev adopts the latest EV compound (mixture) to lower rolling resistance, which greatly affects driving range, providing efficiency and durability. With a low-noise–specialized design, it minimizes road noise while driving for a comfortable and pleasant ride, and its aramid hybrid fiber–based design allows it to respond stably even to high output.
With this tire supply, Hankook Tire has built a portfolio that spans hydrogen fuel cell vehicles as well, following Hyundai Motor's flagship electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) Ioniq 9 and electric sedan Ioniq 6, and Kia's electric SUVs EV3 and EV9.
