Small-caliber firearms maker SNT Motiv said on the 22nd that it is taking part in the Shot Show 2026, the world's largest firearms exhibition, held in Las Vegas from the 20th to the 23rd.
At this exhibition, SNT Motiv unveiled a low-risk revolver and low-risk ammunition that it signed a supply contract for with the Korean National Police Agency late last year. The low-risk revolver, which replaces the existing .38-caliber revolver, is a 9 mm revolver that can use low-risk rounds, standard rounds and blanks.
The low-risk ammunition developed in-house by SNT Motiv uses a plastic projectile and optimizes muzzle velocity, allowing a subject to be subdued with physical force at about one-tenth that of standard rounds, and it passed all inspections and tests last year.
SNT Motiv expects global demand to grow for low-risk revolvers and ammunition that can subdue suspects while minimizing loss of life, and is pursuing active sales efforts.
An SNT Motiv official said, "We are strengthening global competitiveness so that the technology, design and quality of Korea's domestically produced small-caliber firearms can be recognized in the United States, the world's largest firearms market," and noted, "As SNT Defense, the U.S. subsidiary, has obtained sales and manufacturing licenses, we expect to be able to further accelerate full-scale local production and supply."
