SNT Energy said it is taking part in PowerGen International 2026, held in San Antonio, Texas, for three days starting on the 20th (local time). The event is the world's largest power generation exhibition, spanning liquefied natural gas (LNG) generation to nuclear and renewable energy.
At this event, SNT Energy plans to build global partnerships for condensers, key auxiliary equipment for LNG combined-cycle power generation (HRSG) and nuclear power. In 1990, SNT Energy succeeded in localizing high-frequency finned tubes, a core HRSG component, for the first time in Korea, and has been supplying HRSGs to domestic and overseas markets.
Based on the plant it established last year in Louisiana, SNT Energy plans to produce HRSGs and condensers and further connect them to maintenance and various overhaul services for power plants in the United States. Through this, it plans to make the power generation business a core portfolio for the company, following the chemical engineering business, which holds the No. 1 global market share.
In particular, SNT Energy decided to actively engage in competition for orders at home and abroad going forward. The turning point was its failure to win orders in several overseas HRSG bids conducted when the won-dollar exchange rate fell below the 1,300-won level in 2023, after it did not actively reflect the possibility of future exchange rate increases in its bid prices.
A SNT Energy official said, "Through this PowerGen event, we will respond in multiple ways to the global power generation industry's trends to overcome power shortages in the AI era and to the global HRSG markets in the United States, Japan, Poland and Vietnam."
