LIG Nex1 said on the 20th it will take part in the defense exhibition "DIMDEX 2026" in Qatar.
Marking its 10th edition, DIMDEX 2026 is the Middle East's largest naval defense exhibition and is being held in Doha, the Qatari capital, through the 22nd (local time) today.
More than 200 institutions and corporations, including the Qatar government, Middle Eastern governments and Ministries of National Defense, and defense corporations, are expected to participate in the exhibition.
This is the first time LIG Nex1 has participated in a Qatar exhibition. It established a local base in Aug. last year to expand export competitiveness and business capabilities, which is seen as a move to ramp up order marketing.
At this exhibition, LIG Nex1 will showcase Korea-made air defense networks, including the medium-range, medium- to high-altitude surface-to-air guided weapon Cheongung II, the long-range, high-altitude surface-to-air guided weapon L-SAM, and the man-portable air-defense weapon Shingung.
With strong interest in Korea-made air defense networks in the Middle East, the plan is to unveil various weapons systems that will help strengthen local militaries' air defense capabilities.
LIG Nex1 will also present the antitank guided weapon Hyeongung, the 2.75-inch guided rocket Bigung, and core counter-battery warfare equipment, Counter Battery Radar-II.
A LIG Nex1 official said, "We plan to propose comprehensive solutions that will contribute to strengthening the defense capabilities of local militaries in the Middle East, including Qatar."
