Electric mode 293km but a PHEV? Unbelievable, yet it even received Guinness World Records certification.
Zeekr Group's premium lifestyle brand Lynk & Co's plug-in hybrid SUV '08' drove 293km in electric mode and achieved the Guinness World Records™, the news was delivered to Korea through Zeekr Korea on the 20th.
Through this Guinness World Records achievement, the Lynk & Co 08 has established itself as the "production plug-in hybrid SUV with the longest electric mode driving distance in the world." In addition, Zeekr Group's outstanding eco-friendly performance and excellence in electrification technology, which pursue futuristic premium mobility that integrates intelligent technology and efficiency, were also demonstrated.
To achieve the record, the Lynk & Co 08 ran on Mexico City's Centro Dinámico Pegaso race track, configured under the same conditions as actual driving situations, on Dec. 22 last year. Driving data experts participated to provide objective distance measurement, and technical engineers who inspected the vehicle before and after the test to confirm mechanical soundness also took part.
The record measurement was conducted by professional drivers driving the Lynk & Co 08 for more than six hours at an average speed of 50–60 km/h. The method was inspired by the fact that most electric mode driving of plug-in hybrid cars occurs over long periods in urban areas where speeds are not high.
As a result of testing under these conditions, the Lynk & Co 08 ran 293km, exceeding the rated electric mode driving range of 200km (WLTP standard), and set a world record. Given that typical daily urban commute distances are generally 30–50km, the distance achieved by the Lynk & Co 08 means that routine driving for more than a week can be carried out 100% in electric mode.
Based on Geely Automobile Holdings's CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform, the Lynk & Co 08's plug-in hybrid drivetrain consists of a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with 137 horsepower, an electric motor with a maximum output of 208 horsepower, and a 39.6kWh ternary battery. The maximum driving range under WLTP standards is more than 1,000km, and combined fuel economy reaches 111 km per liter. Using a DC fast charger, a battery at 10% charge can be charged to 80% in 33 minutes.
A Zeekr Group official said, "Through the Lynk & Co 08's Guinness World Records achievement, it has been proven that Zeekr Group's plug-in hybrid SUV can reduce fossil fuel consumption and pollutant emissions and alleviate users' range anxiety," adding, "It also confirmed that Geely Automobile Holdings's electrification technologies and results, such as the CMA platform, can be useful in everyday environments, not just laboratory figures."
Lynk & Co is part of Zeekr Group along with premium electrified mobility brand Zeekr. Since its founding in 2016, it has expanded into 33 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, operating more than 700 stores and delivering more than 1.6 million vehicles to customers worldwide to date.

Zeekr Group had already achieved Guinness World Records four times before the Lynk & Co 08's record achievement.
On June 9, 2022, in Yancheng, Jiangsu, China, Zeekr's first electric car 001 set the record for the "fastest electric car slalom" with a result of 49.05 seconds. On Dec. 29 of the same year, in Yakeshi, Hulunbeier, Inner Mongolia, China, the Zeekr 001 set the record for the "fastest electric car slalom on ice." At the time, Zeekr 001's slalom run time was 1 minute 7.92 seconds. On the following day, Dec. 30, Zeekr set another record at the same location: the Zeekr 001 completed 11 donuts in one minute, setting the record for "most donuts (circular drifts) performed by an electric car on ice in one minute."
On Mar. 6, 2025, Zeekr set a new record for the "longest continuous drift performed simultaneously by two vehicles, electric car category" on the ice of Hulun Lake in Manzhouli, Hulunbeier, Inner Mongolia, China. The vehicles were the Zeekr 007GT and 001, which continued drifting without stopping for 55.011km and were recognized by Guinness as a world record.
