Ford Sales & Service Korea said on the 20th that it will change its name to "FLOTO Korea (FLAK)" 30 years after entering the Korean market in 1995.
Along with this, it will shift its business operation to a dealer-centered system. Sunin Motors, the official dealer that has been with Ford since the establishment of its Korean subsidiary in 1995, will own FLOTO Korea and oversee sales and service for Ford and Lincoln in Korea.
Jang In-u, head of Sunin Motors, appointed CEO Lee Yun-dong as the inaugural head of FLOTO Korea. Lee is an auto industry expert who has worked for global brands including Hyundai Motor, BMW Korea, and Audi Volkswagen Korea.
FLOTO Korea will launch four new Ford and Lincoln models this year. First, it will add an eco-friendly powertrain (engine) with the premium hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV) "Lincoln Nautilus Full-Hybrid." It will expand its urban adventure SUV lineup by introducing a new trim of the Ford Explorer, the "Ford Explorer Tremor," and continue its full-size flagship SUV lineup with the fully redesigned "All-New Ford Expedition" and "All-New Lincoln Navigator."
The new chief said, "Based on Sunin Motors' 30 years of experience and Ford's global DNA, we will further strengthen the brand's competitiveness," adding, "We will innovate customer touchpoints and focus our capabilities on providing a differentiated brand experience."
