Ford Sales & Service Korea is changing its name to 'FL Auto Korea Company (FL Auto Korea Company, FLAK)' after 30 years in the Korean market and will strengthen its push into the Korean market by shifting its business operating system.
FL Auto Korea will become a distributor-led business under Ford Motor Company's Asia Pacific Distributor Markets (APDM, Asia Pacific Distributor Markets), a system successfully operated in many countries around the world.
Sunin Motor, the official dealer that has been with the Ford Korea corporation since its founding in 1995, will hold ownership of FL Auto Korea and oversee sales and service for Ford and Lincoln in Korea. Through this, it plans to fully implement operations optimized for the Korean market as an authentic American brand.
Sunin Motor CEO Jang In-woo appointed Lee Yoon-dong as FL Auto Korea's inaugural chief executive effective Jan. 1, 2026.
Lee is an automotive expert who has held key positions at global brands including Hyundai Motor and BMW Group Korea and Audi Volkswagen Korea. Under Lee's leadership, who has broad experience and expertise covering both domestic and imported car brands, the company plans to solidify the brand's position.
The new CEO said, "We will further strengthen the brand's competitiveness based on the 30 years of experience accumulated by Sunin Motor and Ford's global DNA," adding, "We will focus our capabilities on innovating customer touchpoints and providing differentiated brand experiences."
Opening a new chapter, FL Auto Korea will launch four new Ford and Lincoln models this year and begin a full-scale market push.
First, through the Lincoln Nautilus full-hybrid (Lincoln Nautilus FHEV), it will newly add an eco-friendly powertrain and introduce a premium hybrid SUV that meets the growing domestic demand for eco-friendly vehicles.
Next, it will expand its urban adventure SUV lineup by introducing the new trim of the brand's best-selling model, the Ford Explorer Tremor, in Korea for the first time. It will also continue its leadership in extra-large flagship SUVs with the launches of the all-new Ford Expedition and the all-new Lincoln Navigator.
Sunin Motor is Ford's oldest official dealer and has introduced the Ford and Lincoln brands to the Korean market for 30 years. With the launch of FL Auto Korea, it plans to focus more on customer value–centered management and providing differentiated service experiences.
