CJ Logistics said on the 19th that Sunday delivery volume in December last year rose 67% from January after analyzing data following the launch of its seven-day-a-week delivery service "O-NE."
By product type, delivery volume for baby products such as diapers and formula posted the highest growth rate, jumping 316%. Deliveries of fashion apparel and accessories and of cosmetics and beauty products followed, up 93% and 89%, respectively.
Delivery volume for food products, a category expected to benefit when O-NE was introduced, increased 70%. Among foods, deliveries of regional specialties climbed 138% during the same period.
In addition, as CJ Logistics strengthened its consumer-to-consumer (C2C) parcel service, delivery volume in the other category that includes C2C parcels also increased 140% during the same period.
The share of weekend delivery volume at CJ Logistics by product was tallied as follows: ▲fashion apparel and accessories 27% ▲food products 21% ▲household and health 17% ▲cosmetics and beauty 11% ▲books and music 8%.
Based on these data, CJ Logistics will push a sophistication strategy this year to take the O-NE service up a notch. While expanding service areas, the company plans to enhance C2C parcel functions through an application (app) overhaul and step up efforts to broaden sales channels for small business owners.
Yoon Jae-seung, head of the O-NE division at CJ Logistics, said, "We will drive growth in the parcel delivery industry ecosystem through continuous service upgrades."
