Toyota Korea officially launched the "26 model-year Alphard hybrid premium" on the 15th. This means a "premium" grade has been added to the Alphard hybrid, expanding the lineup to two options. Previously, only the single "executive" model was being sold.
The "premium" grade provides a broader range of customer choices that cover not only VIP customers focused on ceremonial use but also lifestyles centered on everyday life and family.
The Alphard is Toyota's flagship premium minivan that has continuously evolved hybrid systems, preventive safety technologies and high-end convenience features over three generations since its first launch in 2002. On Sep. 2023, it officially introduced the fourth-generation Alphard in Korea with the development concept of "the happiness of comfortable mobility."
The newly added "26 model-year Alphard hybrid premium" is a grade that extends the premium mobility experience of the Alphard into everyday use. In addition to ceremonial use, it offers a balanced configuration that considers family travel and daily use, and while retaining key convenience features such as second-row captain seats, napa leather seats, dual panorama roof and JBL premium audio, it strengthens price competitiveness to offer a reasonable choice.
In particular, the second row features captain seats that provide excellent seating comfort and coziness while allowing intuitive operation of various convenience functions. The seats were designed based on the executive lounge seats of the "executive" grade, and instead of a rotating folding table inside the armrest, a seat-side fixed side table was applied to increase convenience for placing items such as mobile phones and to enhance the usability of the space between the seats.
Also, through seat control buttons placed on the second-row armrest, seat position and power slide functions can be easily adjusted, and climate control, lighting, sunshade, audio and seat functions can be controlled via smartphone-shaped touch-type controllers installed individually on the left and right.
At the same time, it maintains a premium ride by applying an electric ottoman, acupressure function using air pressure, and reclining function. In addition, it applies a "smart comfort mode" that can create interior atmospheres according to passengers' preferences, automatically adjusting lighting, climate control and seat position according to the selection of four modes to support a comfortable travel experience.
The suggested retail price for the "26 model-year Alphard hybrid premium" grade is 86.78 million won (based on a special consumption tax of 3.5%).
Kang Dae-hwan, vice president of Toyota Korea, said the "26 model-year Alphard hybrid premium" presented this time is a model that expands the premium mobility experience of the Alphard into the realm of everyday life for customers who are considering a balanced choice between work and family, and added that he expects more customers will be able to experience the Alphard's unique value through dignified mobility that supports valuable daily life.
The Alphard won the "2024 car of the year" utility category selected by the Korea Automobile Journalists Association (KAJA) in Feb. 2024, and was evaluated as the vehicle that pioneered the premium minivan segment that did not previously exist in the domestic market.
