'Driving partner'–evolved SK Telecom AI agent adot auto was unveiled. Natural conversation while driving has become possible.
SK Telecom (CEO Jung Jai-hun) said on the 14th that it applied the next-generation in-vehicle AI agent adot auto to Renault Korea's new vehicle 'Filante (Filante)'.
adot auto has evolved beyond simple command execution into an intelligent AI agent that comprehensively recognizes the driver's driving patterns and driving conditions. It is installed in the vehicle's infotainment system (IVI), allowing drivers to use AI without operational burden while driving.
adot auto can control not only infotainment services such as phone · news guidance · T map (navigation) · FLO (music), but also key vehicle functions such as climate control systems that manage interior temperature and air and opening and closing windows by voice. In particular, it applies A.X 4.0, a Korean-specialized LLM, enabling control of various functions by voice through conversational AI in the vehicle and allowing natural conversations.
For example, when a driver gets into the vehicle on the way to work, it analyzes previous driving patterns and first suggests the office as a destination, and it provides tailored services for situations, such as suggesting closing the windows when fine dust levels are high and the windows are open. In addition, adot auto is linked with the adot mobile app to provide an AI experience spanning vehicle and mobile. If there is a schedule saved in the adot mobile app, it may also suggest a destination based on that.
SKT plans to expand adot auto to other brand vehicles in the future, starting with applying adot auto to Renault Korea's Filante. In particular, it plans to offer adot auto in various options such as on-device solutions tailored to each vehicle brand's requirements and deepen the service so more customers can experience driving convenience through AI.
Kim Ji-hoon, SKT adot business lead, said, "With the launch of adot auto, we opened new possibilities for in-vehicle AI agents," and emphasized, "We will enable people to experience various AI agent functions as a 'national representative AI' at many touch points in the future, not only in vehicles."
