HD Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Robotics said on the 13th that they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation to automate construction equipment production processes and build a Smart Factory.
The two companies plan to develop production-line, tailor-made automation technologies and jointly carry out standardization and proof of concept (PoC).
In addition, they will pilot production-line automation technologies, establish a maintenance system, and pursue process optimization based on robots and artificial intelligence (AI).
The two companies expect this will improve productivity, reduce operating expense, and strengthen global competitiveness.
An HD Construction Equipment official said, "Building a Smart Factory is a key strategy to secure manufacturing competitiveness," adding, "Through cooperation with HD Hyundai Robotics, we will advance the level of production process automation and achieve differentiated, digital-based manufacturing innovation."
An HD Hyundai Robotics official said, "This MOU is an important turning point for the full-scale application of robot and AI technologies to manufacturing sites," adding, "We will provide automation solutions optimized for HD Construction Equipment's production lines to materially improve operational efficiency and lead smart manufacturing innovation."
