Hyundai Motor Group has recruited and appointed Dr. Park Min-woo, a world-renowned expert in Autonomous Driving technology, as the new head of the AVP division and CEO of 42dot to strengthen SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) and Autonomous Driving–based vehicle software competitiveness.
Through this recruitment, Hyundai Motor Group plans to accelerate technology development and commercialization of vehicle software across all areas of SDV and Autonomous Driving, accelerate integration of Autonomous Driving and mobility technologies, and speed up SDV strategy execution. New President Park Min-woo is a global technical leader who experienced the entire process from research and development of computer vision–based Autonomous Driving technologies at global corporations such as Tesla and NVIDIA to mass production and commercialization.
Until recently, President Park Min-woo served as a vice president at NVIDIA, joining the organization that develops Autonomous Driving perception technologies from its early stages, building the overall development system and leading mass production and commercialization of Autonomous Driving software. In particular, by leading the organization in charge of perception and sensor fusion technologies and through mass-production projects conducted with global automakers, he successfully advanced NVIDIA's Autonomous Driving platform application to vehicles and played a key role in converting technologies that were at the research stage into mass-producible technologies applicable to real vehicles.
While at Tesla, President Park Min-woo designed and led the development of Tesla's first 'Tesla Vision' during the Autopilot development process. In this process, he broke away from a structure that relied on existing external solutions and built an in-house camera-centric deep learning system, playing a leading role in laying the foundation for the shift of Autonomous Driving technology from a hardware-centered to a software-centered structure.

Meanwhile, after appointing Manfred Harrer as president and head of R&D, Hyundai Motor Group completed a core leadership structure for strengthening future mobility technology competitiveness and technology development by recruiting President Park Min-woo to oversee the AVP division and 42dot.
