The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise (KFME) said that starting on the 8th, they will operate a "Coupang incident damage report center for microbusiness owners" to identify the status of storefront companies harmed by the KFME Coupang incident.
With the Coupang personal information leak as a turning point, the movement to leave Coupang has grown, raising concerns about declining sales among microbusiness owners on the platform. However, there had been no channel to report the damage situation of microbusiness owners listed on Coupang.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), communicating with the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise (KFME), will operate an online reporting center starting today to identify the damage status of microbusiness owners on Coupang and will conduct a damage survey targeting microbusiness owners.
The "Coupang incident damage report center" will be set up on the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise (KFME) website. Any microbusiness owner experiencing difficulties such as declining sales can submit details of the damage. A survey on damage related to the Coupang incident will also be conducted for microbusiness owners affiliated with KFME member companies (89 locations) to hear voices from the field.
Based on the results of the damage survey, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) plans to identify the status of companies listed on Coupang and prepare support measures for microbusiness owners who suffered damage. Cases submitted to the damage report center will be shared with the "pan-government TF on the Coupang incident" to seek government-level response measures.
