HD Hyundai Heavy Industries said on the 7th that it held an event inviting students who saved a citizen's life.
The event was arranged to honor the good deed of Daesong High School second-year student Yun Jae-jun and Hwaam High School second-year student Mun Hyeon-seo, who saved the life of an elderly man in his 80s who had lost consciousness. Yun is also the child of Yun Hyeong-min, an HD Hyundai Heavy Industries employee and special rescue team member.
On the 28th, Yun and Mun discovered an elderly man who suddenly collapsed while they were working part-time at a restaurant and performed CPR for about two minutes, helping him regain consciousness. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries said the incident became known through social media and resonated widely in the local community.
On this day, Keum Seok-ho, president of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, presented the two students with a CEO commendation and scholarships, and later conducted a yard tour for them.
During the yard tour, Yun's father, Yun, took the role of instructor himself and introduced a safety experience program to respond to dangerous situations that can occur at a shipyard.
An HD Hyundai Heavy Industries official said, "HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will continue to take the lead in building a safety culture in which employees, their families, and, further, the entire local community think about and practice safety together, so that its positive influence can spread widely throughout the region."
