Nexen Tire said on the 6th it will supply original equipment (OE) tires for Hyundai Motor's Electrizio, a China market-tailored electric sport utility vehicle (SUV).
Electrizio is the first dedicated electric vehicle model produced by Beijing Hyundai. Nexen Tire will supply the N'Fera Supreme S and the N'Fera Primus QX EV for Electrizio.
The N'Fera Supreme S is a high-performance all-season tire that can be mounted on both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles, and enhances ride comfort through an artificial intelligence (AI)-based low-noise pattern design. With an AI-based load distribution design that expands the contact patch, it provides stable driving performance even for high-load vehicles such as electric vehicles or SUVs.
The N'Fera Primus QX EV, supplied together, is a high-performance summer tire for electric vehicle sports driving. It maximizes cornering and lateral grip performance. Its grooves are designed in a cross pattern to strengthen anti-slip capability and water drainage performance.
Nexen Tire expects that supplying OE for Electrizio this time will gradually strengthen brand recognition in China. In the Chinese market, which leads the growth of the global electric vehicle market, there is a strong preference for local brands while trust in OE products is relatively high.
A Nexen Tire official said, "This Electrizio OE supply is an important opportunity to showcase the company's electrification competitiveness in China, a strategic market," and added, "Going forward, we plan to continue expanding global OE partnerships through products optimized not only for internal combustion engine vehicles and electric vehicles but for vehicles with all powertrain types."
