Hanwha Robotics said on the 5th it has named Woo Chang-pyo, head of the Future Innovation TF at Hanwha Vision, as the new CEO.
Woo, the new chief, received a master's degree in management engineering from Stanford University in the United States, and served as CEO of MacQus Incorporated and Cornerstone Partners after working at consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
Woo joined Hanwha Group in 2024 and, as head of the Future Innovation TF at Hanwha Vision, handled management efficiency in the machinery institutional sector and the discovery of new businesses.
Hanwha Robotics said that with Woo, a "strategy expert" with global field experience, taking the helm, innovation in manufacturing processes and improvements in production efficiency are expected to gain speed.
Hanwha Robotics said it plans to solidify fundamentals with Woo, the new chief, at the center while actively expanding into new markets.
This year, it plans to launch new products, including ▲ the high-payload collaborative robot "HCR-32" ▲ the ultra-light, ultra-compact welding robot "HCR-5W" ▲ and a standard-platform autonomous mobile robot (AMR).
Along with this, the company plans to continue and expand collaboration with group affiliates in the manufacturing institutional sector and the distribution and services institutional sector.
A Hanwha Robotics official said, "The use of collaborative robots, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and AMRs is expanding across the manufacturing and services fields," adding, "By applying advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and maximizing process efficiency, we will set a new standard not only in the domestic market but also in the global robotics market."
