Chair Choi Pyeong-gyu of SNT Group said, "Even amid the great crisis of global supply chain realignment, opportunities come to those who are prepared," adding, "Now that domestic and overseas corporations are facing harsh business restructurings, for SNT, which has continued preemptive crisis management, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pioneer new markets that can overcome global transaction barriers."
On Jan. 2 in a New Year's address, Chair Choi said, "For our research and development (R&D) engineers, this will be a golden opportunity to leap from fast follower to first mover," and stated accordingly.
Chair Choi assessed that the world economy is passing through the middle of a "great transformation." He said it is an inflection-point era that demands rebuilding the framework from the ground up. He said, "Amid countless economic contradictions such as the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and the disappearance of jobs, strengthened tariff barriers, deepening polarization, and unstable quality, global supply chain realignment and the U.S.-China hegemonic rivalry have become an inescapable reality."
Chair Choi laid out a plan to use the 330,000-square-meter plant SNT Group secured last year in Louisiana as a breakthrough to push forward. He emphasized, "We will progressively utilize this site as a local production base for our three core business groups—automotive parts, energy and power generation plants, and the defense industry—and respond strategically to the global supply chain realignment."
He added, "In response to the surge in U.S. power demand, we will directly supply SNT Energy's LNG combined-cycle related business and SNT Motiv's automotive parts business from local plants without tariff barriers," and "SNT Dynamics, together with SNT Motiv, will leverage this site as a base to serve as a 'Tier 1 partner' in the United States—the final destination of the defense business—and to carry out mass production of core products for U.S. military weapons systems worldwide as well as maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) businesses."
Chair Choi urged, "Let us always, with 'an attitude of humility and consideration toward the market and customers' and 'the steadfast prudence of tapping even a stone bridge before crossing,' create a 'robustly engineered SNT' that can withstand even a perfect-storm business environment."
