Make 2026 a year that further advances LS's future value
Koo Ja-eun, chairman of LS Group, stated accordingly at the New Year's address during the "2026 New Year's greetings" event held at LS Tower in Anyang on the 2nd, presenting as this year's key management policies: securing financial resilience; stabilizing new businesses and diversifying markets; and building a foundation for innovation with artificial intelligence (AI).
Unlike previous years, this year's New Year's address was conducted in a format, proposed by the chairman, that showed employees the process of AI drafting the address. The chairman entered major management keywords considered in advance into the AI and shared with employees the process by which the results were produced.
The chairman urged, "As investments of 7 trillion won in Korea and 5 trillion won overseas are planned over the next five years in subsea cables, power equipment, and materials, we must secure financial resilience to seize new opportunities in an upswing phase of the economy."
The chairman added, "Stabilize new businesses early, such as battery materials and electric-vehicle parts, and have leaders take the lead in pioneering AI-based work innovation." The chairman also urged, "Rapidly handle low value-added tasks by using AI, and concentrate capabilities on core tasks that generate high added value."
At the event, the newly established "LS Futurist Awards" were also presented. The grand prize went to teams that led LS Cable & System's global subsea energy business leadership and LS ELECTRIC's expansion in the North American power equipment market and improvement of business fundamentals.
The LS Futurist Awards is a group-level system that rewards individuals and organizations that contributed to the company's development with outstanding performance over the year. Winners receive prize money totaling 1 billion won and benefits such as overseas training.
