Chair Lee Soon-hyung of SeAH Group said on the 2nd that all capabilities must be concentrated on three tasks, including raising fundamental competitiveness to a hyper-gap level.
In a New Year's address that day, Lee said, "This year, with the spirit of seungpungparang (riding the wind to cut through rough waves), we must proactively adapt to the changed order."
The three key tasks Lee cited are: ▲ enhancing fundamental competitiveness to a hyper-gap level ▲ a major shift in the way work is done through combining accumulated data with artificial intelligence ▲ turning overseas subsidiaries into strategic hubs and attacking overseas markets.
On enhancing fundamental competitiveness, Lee said, "We must seize the grand trend of carbon neutrality and the energy transition as an opportunity to preoccupy unmatched technology and the market for eco-friendly, high value-added products."
Lee added, "A powerful weapon that does not waver in any external headwind is overwhelming technological prowess and trust that leave the market no choice but to choose us."
Regarding the major shift in the way work is done, Lee said, "A hyper-gap level of competitiveness cannot be achieved by past methods alone," adding, "SeAH must combine the manufacturing data and process know-how it has accumulated over a long period with artificial intelligence technology to boost productivity and competitiveness."
On turning overseas subsidiaries into strategic bases and attacking overseas markets, Lee said, "The business sites where we invested preemptively will shine as an asset the more protectionism strengthens," adding, "They must serve as strategic hubs that breathe with us, going beyond simple production bases."
Lee continued, "(Overseas subsidiaries) must be the first to detect changes in local markets and actively create new value," adding, "Overseas business sites where investment is currently underway must also serve as a vanguard for creating overall synergy through rapid stabilization."
Lee said, "In 2026, the year of byeongo, let us soar powerfully toward SeAH's boundless future, with the spirit of the red horse that gallops unrestrained across the wilderness, overcoming the wall of uncertainty," adding, "Only collective intelligence and strong execution, displayed as one, are the sole key to cutting through the surging waves (激浪)."
