AI autonomous manufacturing and Robotics corporations SFA Engineering Corporation said on the 2nd that it signed a contract to supply a logistics system worth 90 billion won to Asung Daiso Co. The deal supplies an AI-based, advanced Robotics logistics system to a large hub center that Asung Daiso Co. is newly building in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province.
Asung Daiso Co. is building large hub centers at key sites nationwide to upgrade its logistics system. Following the Busan hub center in 2017 and the Sejong hub center in 2023, SFA Engineering Corporation was selected as the logistics system supplier for the Yangju hub center. SFA Engineering Corporation said it concluded this transaction based on its capabilities in designing customized systems that reflect each client's logistics characteristics and operational needs.
The Asung Daiso Co. Yangju hub center will be built as a logistics facility with a total floor area of 181,818 square meters (about 55,000 pyeong) that integrates online and offline logistics operations. SFA Engineering Corporation will apply Robotics solutions that maximize logistics automation and processing efficiency at the center. These include a stacker crane-based automated warehouse system enabling real-time automatic receiving, shipping, and inventory management; a side-picking system linked with digital systems; an AI-based robot that automatically recognizes boxes of various sizes and loads them onto conveyors; and a cross-belt automated sorting system that processes more than 25,000 boxes per hour.
An SFA Engineering Corporation official said, "Based on our system design engineering capabilities, we are applying AI autonomous manufacturing and Robotics technologies across various industries, including distribution, semiconductors, secondary batteries, and displays," and added, "We are also expanding our business into inspection and measurement by entering the semiconductor HBM logistics system market and developing CT equipment and FIB-SEM equipment."
