Kim Myeong-jin, president of Main-Biz Association (Korea Management Innovation Small and Medium Business Association), said in a New Year's message on the 31st that "2026 is a meaningful year marking the 20th anniversary of the introduction of the Main-Biz system," adding, "This year, the association will focus its capabilities on strengthening the competitiveness of Main-Biz corporations."
Kim said, "The Main-Biz system, which took its first step in 2006, has set the direction for management innovation among small and midsize businesses over the past 20 years, and today, some 25,000 Main-Biz corporations have played an important role in growing into a solid pillar supporting Korea's industry and economy."
Kim then presented key tasks for 2026 to bolster innovative growth among small and midsize businesses and strengthen a win-win ecosystem. He said, "We will build a package-type support system centered on reinforcing policy foundations and improving regulations to systematically back management innovation at small and midsize businesses."
He added, "Based on voices from the field, we will continuously identify and improve regulatory and institutional bottlenecks, and we will take the lead in effectiveness-focused policy cooperation and institutional improvements so that policy finance, tax systems, R&D, workforce, and digital transformation support can be organically linked."
Kim also proposed ways to strengthen global competitiveness. He said, "Through expanding overseas networks, practical export linkages, and support for local entries, we will generate tangible results in global markets," adding, "We will also actively push forward education support centered on the lifelong education center."
Kim added, "We will also accelerate the establishment of an online win-win platform that promotes exchanges and collaboration among member companies," and said, "The association will continue to faithfully fulfill its role as a solid partner so that management innovation can spread across our industry and corporations overall."
