Daedong said on the 26th that it held a demonstration for dealership owners of its Level 4 autonomous-work AI tractor, which is based on vision AI and set to launch in the first quarter of next year.
The demonstration was prepared to check the completeness of the new AI tractor in advance and to reflect on-site feedback from dealership owners nationwide in the product. To that end, Daedong held four rounds of demonstrations for 130 dealerships in major farming regions across the country from the 19th to the 23rd, including Jangseong County in South Jeolla, Asan in South Chungcheong, and Changnyeong County in South Gyeongsang.
At the event, the company showcased an autonomous-work function that applies vision AI-based field and implement recognition technology. With a single touch on the "Daedong Connect" app, the tractor recognized farmland and performed precision tasks while unmanned, earning positive reactions from attendees. Dealership owners at the site confirmed the potential of next-generation agriculture by seeing how AI autonomous-work technology is applied in real farm settings.
Its obstacle recognition performance also drew attention. The new AI tractor recognized obstacles in front and on the sides, stopped automatically, and then restarted after assessing the situation. Mechanical and electronic performance was also greatly enhanced. Daedong improved shift shock to boost operational stability and newly applied a main-unit horizontal control function to improve precision. By applying the DHCU (Driving Hitch Control Unit) system, integrated control of steering, brakes, transmission, and the three-point hitch also became possible.
Choi Hyeong-u, head of domestic business at Daedong, said, "This demonstration served as a venue to verify with dealership owners what value a Level 4 autonomous-work AI tractor can provide in actual farming fields," adding, "Ahead of the official launch in the first quarter of next year, we will actively reflect on-site feedback to improve completeness and lead the AI-based autonomous farming market."
