LG has set up a new education base in downtown Seoul to train the group's future talent.
On the 26th, LG's leisure and real estate development subsidiary D&O said it will officially open the Namsan Leadership Center (NLC), built in Namsan-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, on Jan. 5. In mid-Jan. next year, it plans to begin leadership training for newly appointed LG Group executives.
NLC, on a site of about 5,050 square meters (about 1,500 pyeong), with four floors above ground and three below, broke ground in July 2023 and was completed in Nov. this year. Along with the LG Academy in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, NLC will take on the group's talent development function.
While the LG Academy has served for more than 30 years as the cradle of group talent development, handling large-scale group training, NLC will be used not only for leadership education for employees and executives but also as a global business venue, leveraging its excellent accessibility in downtown Seoul.
The company said the establishment of the center reflects LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo's commitment to developing future talent. Koo has emphasized the importance of talent development, saying earlier, "I will spare no support so that the best talent can deliver the best results in the best environment."
LG also created a separate exhibition space inside the center to share the group's history and the business stories of each affiliate. An LG official said, "The Namsan Leadership Center will serve as a base for employees and executives to cultivate new strategic perspectives and strengthen leadership amid a rapidly changing business environment."
