Hyundai Elevator said on the 24th that it carried out several sharing activities, including donations and volunteer work for underserved neighbors, to mark the year-end.
Hyundai Elevator said it held a ceremony at the Chungju Smart Campus that day to deliver a 20 million won donation to the Chungcheongbuk-do Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled. The donation fund was raised from the in-house disability-friendly cafe "Elis Cafe" revenue. When Hyundai Elevator employees use this cafe, 50% of the payment amount is automatically accrued as a donation. This donation was made in the name of each executive and employee.
On the 18th, it delivered a 20 million won donation and blood donation certificates collected by executives and employees over about a year to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation. Hyundai Elevator has continued supporting children with leukemia for 17 years since 2009. To date, a total of 82.7 million won in donations and 2,210 blood donation certificates have been delivered.
It also donated about 13 million won in proceeds to World Vision by producing and selling chocolates shaped like Hyundai Asan Tower and modular elevators. Employees donated 1,862 items collected through the goods donation campaign "Hyundai:Re(cycling)" to the Dobong branch of Goodwill Store operated by the Milal Welfare Foundation. About 20 executives and employees also carried out volunteer activities.
A Hyundai Elevator official said, "As year-end volunteer work that goes beyond corporate social responsibility and is achieved through the voluntary participation of executives and employees, it carries special meaning," and added, "We hope that our small touch for the local community and the underserved, who may be inadvertently neglected, can help even a little as we put a period on the year."
