The New Audi Q5, a midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV) that Audi released in Korea on Jul. in, is drawing consumer attention. The New Audi Q5 is designed on the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) platform, newly developed by Audi for internal combustion and plug-in hybrid models, enhancing body rigidity, space utilization, and driving stability.
The model equipped with the 2.0 TDI engine delivers a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a peak torque of 40.79 kg·m. The model with the 2.0 TFSI gasoline engine offers a maximum output ranging from 204 horsepower to 272 horsepower depending on the trim.
All models come standard with Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system and a 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission. In particular, the diesel models feature, for the first time in Audi's diesel lineup, the high-efficiency Mild Hybrid Plus (MHEV Plus) technology.
The MHEV Plus system, which assists with up to 18 kW of output, enables smooth and quiet driving without engine engagement and minimizes the characteristic vibration of diesel engines to provide a quiet and comfortable ride.
The design also emphasizes a more powerful and sophisticated feel. The New Audi Q5 presents a strong presence with an evolved lighting design and the new 2D Audi logo. LED headlights and LED taillights with rear dynamic turn signals come standard, while higher trims feature Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED taillights for improved visibility.
The interior forms a "digital stage" with an 11.9-inch Virtual Cockpit Plus and a 14.5-inch MMI touch display. Trims S line and above add a 10.9-inch passenger display. In addition, various driver assistance systems are applied, including front and rear parking assist, Park Assist, adaptive cruise control, and Side Assist.
Starting prices by model are 69.68 million won for the New Audi Q5 40 TDI quattro, 72.62 million won for the New Audi Q5 Sportback 40 TDI quattro, 66.73 million won for the New Audi Q5 40 TFSI quattro, 81.46 million won for the New Audi Q5 45 TFSI quattro, 69.68 million won for the New Audi Q5 Sportback 40 TFSI quattro, and 84.40 million won for the New Audi Q5 Sportback 45 TFSI quattro.
