HD Hyundai said on the 18th that on the 5th it held a "kimjang sharing volunteer event" at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center (GRC) in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, and delivered a total of 7,000 kg of kimchi to children's residential facilities nationwide and to neighbors in need in the community.
This year's event drew a total of 32 participants, including employees and their families. Wearing sanitary gowns and masks, participants learned sweet potato kimchi recipes and kimjang methods from Chef Lee Mi-young, known as the "Gupsikdaega."
Chairman Chung Ki-sun of HD Hyundai also appeared at the event. Chung personally made boiled pork using the method learned from Chef Lee Mi-young and shared it with employees and their families.
HD Hyundai also held kimjang sharing events at other affiliates in Ulsan and Incheon. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries on the 26th of last month held the "2025 Love Kimjang Sharing" event in Ulsan and delivered 6,000 boxes of kimchi (a total of 30,000 kg) to 4,300 vulnerable households and 50 welfare facilities in the area.
HD Hyundai's construction machinery division also said that last month it carried out employee-participation kimjang sharing in Incheon, Ulsan, and Gunsan, delivering a total of 2,400 boxes of kimchi to neighbors in welfare blind spots.
An HD Hyundai official said, "Chairman Chung Ki-sun often appears at in-house events and communicates naturally with employees," adding, "Going forward, Chairman Chung and employees will come together as one to continue sharing activities in the field."
